Intro

Team Members is a custom post type created for Mindfulife and contains all team members at Mindfulife that need to be shown on the site. These are maintained under the Team Members menu. Any team members listed here will appear automatically on the front end of the website.

Details

Click on Team Members (or All Team Members) and these will be listed and show the below table:

  • The team members screen shows all relevant details that are required to ensure each team member is presented correctly on the front end of the site.
  • You can order the list by clicking on the Order heading. Note that by default WordPress orders posts by creation date and time with the newest appearing on top, so when opening the page the order will be scrambled.
  • You can add a new team member by selecting the Add New menu, or
  • You can open to view or edit the details of an existing team member by clicking on Edit, which appears when you hover over a team member full name field.
  • In edit mode you will see the below screen, all fields circled in green are required for each team member:

  • To create new or maintain an existing service you need to fill out the fields as follows:
    1. Name: this is the name of the team member. This will appear on the front end of the site, where the full name is required.
    2. Description: a description of each team member.
    3. Featured Image: this is the team member’s photo. It should be and around 1200px wide.
    4. Order: this is a numeric field that allows team members to be ordered as required on the front end. You can use any numbers and leave gaps between numbers – so instead of 1, 2, 3; you can have 5, 10, 15. This allows you to slip new team members in between the existing ones.
    5. Position: team member’s position at Mindfulife.
    6. Email: team member’s email
    7. Once you have filled out all the fields, you can click on Update, to save your work, or Publish if you are adding a new team member. All published team members will appear on the front end of the site automatically.

Phone: this is not currently used but can be if required.

If you have created a new team member but don’t want this to show in the front end of the website, you can select Save as Draft and publish it at a later date. If you wish to hide a team member, temporarily of permanently, you can change it’s published status to draft by selecting Switch to draft at the top right of the page as in the below picture and clicking on Update:

Note that there are a few other fields available to use, like ‘Facebook’; ‘Instagram’ etc. These are not currently being used but are there in case there is a requirement in the future. You will have to get assistance from the development team to allow for any additional fields to be shown on the front end.
